Tuscawilla Place is a structured sober living campus in Ocala, Florida located at 525 NE Sanchez Ave, directly across from Tuscawilla Park. It provides peer-supported recovery housing for men and women in recovery from addiction. The campus is 100 percent sober, has a full-time on-site manager who lives and works there every day, and hosts 18 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on-site every week.
No. Tuscawilla Place is a peer-supported recovery residence, not a treatment center. No clinical, medical, or therapeutic services are provided on campus. The campus provides structured, accountable housing for individuals who are already in recovery and committed to sobriety. It is not a detox facility and does not provide counseling or medical supervision.
Tuscawilla Place has a spiritual undertone rooted in the AA tradition. Residents are required to participate in AA or a comparable peer recovery program, and the campus spirit reflects values of forgiveness, patience, and the belief that anyone committed to change deserves a real shot at it. That spirit is welcoming of all faiths and all higher powers. The campus is not affiliated with any specific religion or denomination. Whoever your God is, you are welcome here.
Tuscawilla Place serves men and women in recovery who are serious about sobriety and ready to live in a structured, accountable environment. Residents come directly from treatment centers, through court referrals, and through self-referral. Both housing sides are open to individuals in early recovery and to those with longer sobriety who need stable, affordable housing.
The weekly rate is $175. A $100 deposit is required to hold a bed once you are approved. Payment is made in cash every Friday between 3:00 and 6:30 pm. There is no grace period on payments.
The weekly rate covers your bed and living space, access to on-site kitchen and laundry facilities, 18 AA meetings on campus every week, the accountability and oversight of a full-time on-site manager, free parking, and the structured campus environment. There are no additional fees for amenities.
Yes, for qualifying residents. Some treatment centers have grant programs that can cover the cost of sober living for clients transitioning out of their program. The grant is arranged through the referring treatment center, not directly through Tuscawilla Place. If you are coming from a treatment program, ask your case manager whether a sober living grant is available. If you are a case manager with a grant program, call (352) 622-6023 to discuss how that arrangement works.
Yes, family members can provide the funds. We encourage the resident to make the payment themselves each Friday, as the act of making the payment is part of the weekly accountability structure.
Zero tolerance. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on campus or while representing Tuscawilla Place. All residents participate in a random drug and alcohol testing program. A sobriety violation results in removal from the campus. There are no exceptions.
Yes. Active participation in AA, NA, or a comparable peer recovery program is required for all residents. Tuscawilla Place hosts 18 AA meetings on campus every week, so the opportunity to meet this requirement is available every day without leaving the campus.
Every resident participates in maintaining the campus. Chores and shared responsibilities are assigned and rotated regularly. Maintaining the campus is a community effort and part of the daily accountability structure at Tuscawilla Place.
It depends on the violation. A sobriety violation, meaning a positive drug or alcohol test or a direct violation of the sobriety policy, results in immediate removal from the campus. Other house rule violations are handled by the onsite house manager depending on the circumstances. Consistent or serious violations may also result in removal. The house rules are communicated to every resident at move-in and apply equally to everyone.
Yes. All residents participate in a random drug and alcohol testing program. Testing is unannounced and applies to every resident on the campus without exception. The testing program protects the sober environment for everyone who lives here.
Yes. Free parking is available on campus for residents who have a vehicle.
Yes. Laundry facilities are available on campus and are included with residency at no additional charge.
Yes. Kitchen facilities are available on campus for resident use and are included with residency at no additional charge.
The SunTran public transit system runs near the campus at 525 NE Sanchez Ave, Ocala. Residents can use SunTran to reach employment, grocery stores, medical appointments, and other destinations in the Ocala area without a car. Visit suntran.com for current route and schedule information.
No. Pets are not permitted at Tuscawilla Place.
Tuscawilla Park is directly across the street from the campus. The park has walking trails, fishing areas, tennis courts, and water views. Residents have access to this green space every day, steps from the front door.

Not necessarily. Tuscawilla Place accepts individuals coming from treatment centers as well as those in early recovery who have not been through a formal program. A genuine commitment to sobriety and willingness to follow the house rules are the requirements. Call (352) 622-6023 to discuss your specific situation.
Once approved and a bed is available, move-in can happen quickly. The process is a brief intake conversation, confirmation of your move-in date, and the $100 deposit on move-in day. Call or apply online and we will tell you what current availability looks like.

Yes. Tuscawilla Place serves both men and women. Men and women live in completely separate housing on the same campus. Women's housing is apartment-style. Both sides have their own living spaces and common areas. Check current availability at tuscawillaplace.com for each housing side.
Yes. Tuscawilla Place regularly accepts referrals from Marion County courts, DUI programs, drug courts, and probation officers. Random testing results are available to supervising officers as required by the terms of the court referral. Call (352) 622-6023 to discuss placement details for a court-referred individual.

No. All referral relationships at Tuscawilla Place are non-financial. We do not pay or receive payment, commission, or any other compensation for client referrals. Every referral partnership is a community relationship only, consistent with Florida law and our own values.
No. Tuscawilla Place is spiritually welcoming but not religiously exclusive. The campus reflects the AA tradition of a higher power as each person understands it. Whoever your God is, or if you are still figuring that out, you are welcome here. The requirement is a commitment to sobriety, not a specific belief system.

Employment is strongly encouraged. Residents are expected to pursue employment, education, or structured productive activity as part of building a stable life in recovery. A temporary employment agency is nearby, and the SunTran bus route provides access to jobs without a car. Building a productive daily routine is one of the most important things a person can do in early recovery, and the campus location supports it.
